I am wondering if this film is gonna be "all digital" like so many films are today. Star Wars 2 never even used any real locations much. nearly every set was blue screen. When I think of CGI i don't normally worry about sets but this for some reason weighs on my mind.
I really wonder if WB knew what they were getting into by entering into this movie deal. I mean, did they realize how big the response was going to be from fans both good and bad. This fan base is rock solid and well educated for the most part on this series, how do you confront a project like this?
Even a huge company like WB couldn't have realized what they were getting into.(perhaps they still don't lol) Robotech stirs emotions from fans that rival seeing Star Wars return to the big screen(a feeling that died after the opening crawl sadly) We have all been waiting years for this to happen.
If WB treats this film right they will have a media BOMB on their hands as this is gonna expload brighter then they could have ever imagined. If it flops well... same effect different out come LOL.
I Think alot of the Robotech Haters out there are going to have to admit it is a good movie even if it is between clenched teeth.
I'm excited, I love Robotech pure and simple. This is gonna be a big event and I'm proud to be along for the ride. ^_^

Also a revamped F-14 would be nice for the Veritech.

This is kinda like mad science. The mix has to be perfect. If it is then you win the Nobel Prize. If you blow it your teeth hair and eyeballs will be all that is left. Volitility is high on this one.
I like Lancer's Blog and it brings up a point that I don't normally think about, Not many Anime's have made mainstream.
If the key point are made ie: good story telling and supporting FX/actors, then there shouldn't be a problem. This is a story that crosses international boundaries. The RDF is multi-national and the struggle is one for human kind not for any individual nation. In other words ANYONE can relate to the characters plight.
Back in the mid 80's RT broke barriers and set the bar for hundereds of anime's to follow. It trail-blazed where others had gone before but failed to cross.
This live film has the potential to do the same in a whole new arena.
No pressure WB....

So the question is. . . how do we re-capture the ground breaking feeling Robotech created ?
It is not going to be easy. I wonder if writing to WB pleading for them not to butcher the series would help.
