I am hoping to get the story the second time around since I missed alot of the plot the first time I watched it.
On a sad note,it is a shame that a homosexual was piloting the Macross quarter.I guess that means the homosexual plague will have a place in the future.I mean Alto was also a kabuki female dancer..Jeeze that is sad
What was funny besides the hillbilly Zentraedis was the "khyron" version was eating a carrot waiting to fight.
What was crazy is that they killed Ozma like 2 times and yet he lived.
I hope Macross will pick up where Frontier left off.I am almost a 100% Macross fan,But I doubt I will be 100% because I cannot lower my standards and bash and call names to Robotech fans (even tho Robotech is a dead mummy) because Robotech might still have a pulse.

That's kind of a sad statement in and of itself. Even though Bobby's gay as hell, he's still one hell of a ship pilot, and one must remember that he did threaten to kill Ranka's manager if he even got a HINT that she was being exploited in any unsavory way. Sexual orientation aside, Bobby had a good bit of humor to him (Remember what he did to the passed out Alto), and to be quite honest, I wouldn't mind having him watching my back as he drove the Quarter.
Alto's background as a specialised female-role actor has precedent. There's a great tradition of this in classic Japanese theater, and it does lend a bit of humor to the story as well.
I did like it in some ways but it is almost basically a cut and paste version of Macross saga with a new coat of paint.
This is very intentional, as Macross Frontier was meant as a celebration of the 25th aniversary of the Macross Franchise.
I hope Macross will pick up where Frontier left off.
There is a MacF movie in the works, and from what I hear in the rumormill, it's supposed to revolve around Klan, mostly.
But I doubt I will be 100% because I cannot lower my standards and bash and call names to Robotech fans (even tho Robotech is a dead mummy) because Robotech might still have a pulse.
Well, there's a lot of us 100% RT/Macross fans that don't call either one names, nor do we call fans names, either. It's not a prerequisite, and to be quite frank about it, I find the practice a bit degrading, actually.

Well Its just an "ANIMATED" series, but I can say that from my personal experience,Homosexuals dont bother me. I have proudly served with them in Combat, and I mean True Combat. They fought just as brave as us straight guys.

I'm kind of disgusted by your bigoted remark about Bobby Margot, the helmsman of the SMS Macross Quarter. If find that kind of unthinking hatred to be incredibly offensive, and something humanity would do well to leave behind. If we're ever going to progress as a species, we're damn well gonna have to learn to accept each other's differences.
You're attempting to judge, and condemn, characters for things that are considered perfectly acceptable and in fact entirely normal in the show's native culture. Most nations are nowhere near as uptight as the US is when it comes to sexuality. Also, Alto's history as an oyama, a male kabuki actor who specializes in playing women, is an entirely normal piece of Japanese culture. In a situation similar to Shakespearean era European drama, in Japan women were at one time prohibited from acting in theatrical productions by law, requiring men to play the female roles in dramas. Traditional kabuki theater continues the tradition of the oyama to this very day.
As they explain in Macross Frontier, Alto's family has a multigenerational tradition of kabuki acting, and just like today, actors who play female roles are usually among the most respected of kabuki actors.

This is another thing that REALLY REALLY gets on my nerves... the idea that to be a Macross fan you have to hate and or bash Robotech and its fans. It's just not true. It's true that many Macross fans do think that Macross is better than Robotech, and some do criticize it openly, but only the very worst go out to harass Robotech fans like that.I hope Macross will pick up where Frontier left off.I am almost a 100% Macross fan,But I doubt I will be 100% because I cannot lower my standards and bash and call names to Robotech fans (even tho Robotech is a dead mummy) because Robotech might still have a pulse.
If you're hoping Macross will pick up where Macross Frontier left off, you're in luck, as this Autumn brings us Macross Frontier: the Movie.

We'll find out sooner rather than later... the Macross Frontier movie is supposed to come out this fall. The rumor that Ranka's role in the story is being dramatically reduced in favor of greater focus on Klan Klan came from an issue of Newtype magazine back around the time the movie was announced. There is a MacF movie in the works, and from what I hear in the rumormill, it's supposed to revolve around Klan, mostly.

Since Macross Chronicle quashed the rumors that Mash, the salon owner from Macross II, was gay, I guess that would make Bobby Margot Macross's first openly gay character.BUT WAS SURPRISED IT WAS INTRODUCED IN IT. I DONT KNOW IF IT WAS A FIRST FOR THE SERIES.
Actually, I think Bobby Margot may be the first openly gay character in mainstream sci-fi.

Now back to Macross,
If the Macross LAM is coming out this fall in Japan then I hope it will be a good movie.I do not remember if it is LAM or Cg.Either way I hope it comes out good.No way will I make enuf to go to Japan or enuf time to learn japanese.
I too was sad that I heard that Robotech is dead or comatose because since nothing went on at Anime Expo then Robotech is slowly becoming a waste of time.
And a sad note is that the game will be for cell phones.oh well Robotech was good when it lasted.
