original fan here was created by sorral
I am an original fan. I remember the first commercials put on TV in my area. I saw the planes transform, and I was already hooked. It has been an off and on again thing for me, but it is definitely a life long thing. I have been to conventions in SF, Ca. the first year it was on TV, and met Carl Macek, and got his autograph on a comic book (spilled soda on it a week later and ruined it) and have built some models. I own the original series on DVD, and love to play Robotech voxp (Google it and try it, its free).
I must say though, I do not keep up with the new stuff like the books and such, I stick to the original 3 generations.

I'm a young pup here i suppose I saw the original back in 87 but...(wait for it.....)
I was 4 years old. I was completly hooked and we recorded the first two episodes on tape which is all i had of it for the next 13 years.
Nothing beats an original classic and the feeling is the same today as it was then.

It occured to me that Roy Fokker had said it all back in the first show when he said.
"This Robotech thing was just so exciteing I couldn't give it up. It just gets in your blood or something I don't know.."
Of course he was just refering to himself in the Robotech universe but I think that line says it all for the entire Robotech Saga in the eyes of the original fan base. It was just that good. You really couldn't give it up. I still get shivers when the opening credits roll by.
It gets into your blood and saturates every fiber of your being until you are hopelessly hooked for life. I had to tell my Fionce that Robotech was something she would have to deal with for life. I'm not giveing it up. lol!
I have never ben so hooked on anything in my entire life as I have been with Robotech.

yeah that god awfull rewright they dared to call a contination just sucked. Hay I been a fan sence 85 i have the right to be upset. There is no way robtech ended a certant way for over 20 years then it changed to fit some one else's vision that did not fit the orinal series.. Plus it did not hold the magic that captured me those many years ago. And the thought that none of the question i had were awsered and i wanted to see all three generations come togehter I did not get that at all. one charactor for masters and a glipes of what suppost to be rick and a dead guy who got killed at the orinal end in comand yeah and every one wonder's why I did not like it. And i will not bother with it's sequals either. I want my robotech not some new over sexualized version of crap.

i know how you feel, I'm not interested in their sequels either, I'll stick to my own story thank you very much.
and it seems they put more effort into sexualizing the characters rather than coming up with a good story.
kinda sad that the most memorable thing about the movie were the ridiculous size of the female's racks.
