CHRONICLES SAGA AND WAITING IN WBFor clarification, I was trying to say that if HG could start work on RT 3000 and then after that failed, start work on an anime version of it.....then why not work on a new series (non RT3000) continuing the story started in TSC. Obviously they were willing to fund/produce a series, so what has changed. If anything, since then with sales of DVDs, TSC, video games w/e
2011 PROJECT IS WHATS GOING ON NOW.why not fund something now and get shit going.

Seriously though, I wouldn't be surprised if rt2011's title turns out to be something like ROBOTECH: INVASION or ROBOTECH: INVID INVASION. Putting the NEW Invid Invasion stills next to the title in the TPB would probably be something Tommy would think is cleaver.

www.robotech.com/community/forum/read.ph...umid=31&pagenumber=1
The sidquel is still in production. We like the footage that we have and are working on more. Animation, under any circumstance, is a slow process at best and with sidequel we are doing something a bit experimental. So it takes more time than it normally would but every one at Harmony Gold is very happy with the progress.
Right now we are showing a clip of it at conventions.
There is not a "whole lot out there" online since:
1. No distributor for the documentary has been secured yet. You cant start do heavy marketing untill you get a distribution deal signed and a release date set.
2. The animated project is still in production. It's simply not finished yet so we are not in a postion to put anything about it (images, plot points etc..) up online yet.
Both of these issues will resolve themselves as the projects continue to move forward.

Wait a second... what did he tell us we didn't already know? Except for his commentary on their animation creation process, which might be interesting.
"We like the footage that we have and are working on more."
Maybe it just the way he wrote it but that sentence seems a bit odd. He makes it sound like the animation is being done in house, well they won't tell us who is doing the animation for them. Maybe its Tommy doing it himself, I still think its a Spanish fan group. Also, he makes it sound like they are animating the movie in installments, wonder if that might suggest they dumped LLA and need additional footage to replace it?
"...with sidequel we are doing something a bit experimental."
Oooo, experimental!? Whatever could HG be doing with the sidequel?
I'm glad we got an update, just wish it had actually been an update.

If you guys ACTUALLY went to these cons where HG is posting clips from the production then there would be NO doubt.
Fans are just too impatient these days.
Anyway back to my NHL playoffs viewing, and tons of beer and munchies to boot.
Now going into Robotech hibernation mode.

Yup, it totally sounds like they are scrapping the idea of using LLA or at least not making it the main part of the sidequel. This would explain why the completion date is just 2011 rather than last year's comment of being done in summer of 2011. The only potential problem with them producing more animation than originally planned is that the price of production will increase which would reduce HG's profit.Cool, finally an update

IIRC someone suggested the idea in the accidentally deleted original rt2011 thread quite a while ago. It may have been suggested elsewhere even earlier, but that's the earliest one I recall.Where did the original idea of this being LLA come from?
