WELL MY THINKING IS JUST THE SAME AS RICHARD.Say what you will about AS, although I read/heard somewhere that at least two series came back from the dead because of AS and a couple more had rating increases on their home network after they also started airing on AS.
Memo, thinking like yours is why Robotech's brand is diminishing while other 80's series are making huge comebacks. Yeah I know, we will have to agree to disagree.
How many copies of Shadow Chronicles have been sold?
Robotech has been on CN and IIRC in the AS time period before AS was created. I believe each time Robotech aired CN skipped episodes or abruptly jumped back to Macross Saga before completing all three sagas. Then there was the robot week in the early 2000's where they showed I think five episodes from Macross Saga and New Gen, apparently HG was using this opportunity to establish its new continuity timeline by adding a date to NG which hadn't been there before.
In an interview once, Macek said he doubted Robotech would air on CN again as they would never be willing to pay what HG would want.
MAYBE AN ENHANCED ANIMATION WOULD GET FANS INTO IT. I DO AGREE THIS HAS BEEN DONE FOR A WHILE WITH OTHER CARTOON SERIES AND AS OF NOW WITH REBOOTS OF OLD CARTOONS LIKE YOU POSTED IN THE 80'S REVIVAL.
AND I THINK AND PROBABLY OTHERS IS HG SHOULD INVEST IN A NEW ANIMATED REBOOT AND PROMOTED THAT WAY WITH NEW TOYS OR EXISTING TOYS TO FOLLOW.
PAYING A NETWORK TO DO RE RUNS IS A WASTE ON THE HG BOTTOM LINE WHEN THEY ALREADY WORKING ON NEW PRODUCING ANIMATION THAT CAN BETTER SERVE A NEW INTEREST ON BETTER ANIMATION.
DON'T GET ME WRONG, I WISH OLD SKOOL ROBOTECH BE RUNNING ALL NIGHT ON CARTOON NETWORK BUT THAT'S WHY YOU HAVE HULU AND NETFLIX THAT ALREADY CATERING TO OLD AND NEW FANS ALIKE.

HE'S RIGHT. IT'S NOT THE SAME IMAGE. THE NEW ONE LOOKS MORE... CLEANED UP. REMINDS ME OF EARTH FROM THE SHADOW CHRONICLES OPENING. WITHOUT THE PHOTOSHOP BLUR OF THE TOP IMAGE.actually, not same image.
NEED A BETTER CLOSE UP AND SCAN TO BE SURE.
HERE'S A CLIP OF THE CG ONE FROM SHADOW CHRONICLES.

IF THE IMAGE IS A NEW PRODUCTION THEN LOOKS LIKE DR.MOVIE IS INVOLVED UNLESS IT'S A REUSED CG EARTH.
BUT COMPARING TO THE TPB IT'S MORE CLEANED UP AND WITH CITY LIGHTS SO I DON'T THINK IT'S REUSED.

REEL 1
OK, THE TWO TOP IMAGES OF THE REEL I RECOGNIZE. THEY NOT IN COLOR BUT THE SAME. YOU HAVE THE BLASTING OF THE MOUNDS WHICH WAS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE HG CLIP. AND THE SECOND OF THE REGIS ENERGY ENGULFING THE PLANET.
THE THIRD BOTTOM IMAGE ON THE REEL I DON'T. THAT'S A FIRST FOR ME.
THE IMAGES LOOK BETTER AND CLEANER THAN THE ANIMATIC SHOWN.
