Can anyone direct me to a good Robotech forum? was created by Williamhawk
Hi there,
I can find all the mecha stats and stills I could ever want, but I can't find any good discussion forums for Robotech.
I checked out the ones at Robotech.com and Robotechx.com (supposedly two of the biggest/best) and was disappointed both with the lack of traffic and the generally poor quality of posts.
Please help
Thank you
I did not find the right solution from the internet

Also, the length of the SDF-01 is 1210 meters. I don't think that's ever been in true contention, so I'm not surprised your thread lasted all of 15 posts?

The problem is that the visuals and dialogue don't support that figure. They indicate a much larger ship.
If this were the Trek Tech forum, we'd have several pages of people using reason and logic (and the occasional WAG) to try to suss out a better figure, but on the RT fora, people don't seem to want to engage in either reason OR logic. They just quote the "official" figure and leave it at that.
I'm used to a higher caliber of debate from all the time spent here...guess I'm spoiled...
Did not copy it to make fun of the author or of Star Trek-fans.
I do remember from the Palladium-forum, that some fans discussed why the Robotech universe did not seem to have had a digital revolution. Instead of simply stating 'the series was created 15 years before the breakthrough of internet in the nineties', some people pointed out that during the Global War, the military might have simply commandeered all the communication satelites. With military needs superseeding civilian needs, internet and mobile phones simply became things of the past. And with the war basically only ending in order to prepare for a possible alien invasion, the military simply did not realease their grip on communication technologies.
But to be fair, I do not mind not going to deep on the technological sides of things. A lot of things that happen in for instance super hero stories seem to be not even possible, according to science. So I prefer to just 'go with the story'.
After all, one of the funtions of fiction is escapism...

I think the hate is silly, why can't both exist in their own right? I don't get it but whatever.
I also think the macross sequels suck and just keep getting worse and worse. They've made it all about pop stars and its annoying. That's why I prefer Robotech over Macross. But I understand it's because of Japan's culture. I get that, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.
