Destroids Need Love Too!!! was created by Viper
Now,you all know that I like Destroids. Hell, I write about them.
I find, however, that they're still largely ignored, as all the love for mecha seems to be driven to the Alpha/Beta, the Cyclones, and even Spartas hovertanks...
Where's the love for the Destroids?
If you're a destroid fan, POST IT HERE!
We may be the minority, but that's cool!

Yeah, the ground mecha do tend to get pushed to the side when the story's all about the pilots. All the same, they've had a few moments of glory (and occasionally comedy) in recent times.
There were the destroid scenes in Macross: Do You Remember Love?, the whole new generation of destroids in Macross II: Lovers Again, the HWR-00 Mk.II Monster cameo in Macross Plus, the barrier-equipped enemy Mk.II Monsters in Macross VF-X2, the original series destroids showing up in Macross 7 in civilian hands, and the Cheyenne series in Macross Zero and Macross Frontier...
I have many a fond memory of being shot down by shield-equipped Monsters... and you know all too well how much effort I've put into digging up info on the Gen 2 destroids.

I suppose it's understandable why destroids get such a low amount of attention, what with the series being so populated with transforming mecha.
And, to that point, I have to say that the Macross-saga (RT) mecha are by far the coolest in the series, bar none.

I try to have great respect for all fighting machines cause each has it good and bad points, but I fell in love with the Monsters when i saw the VB-6 Koenig Monster (Correct Seto?) from the Frontier series, i just thought was kick ass.
i tried to older mech warrior games but found them to be a bit cumbersome to how is generally play. but i am looking foward to the new one coming out as much as Viper (Robelwell202).
I saw the trailer he posted on another site and all can i say is
IT HAS TOMY.

I use to love playing Destroids in the Palladian RPG. I use to have a Gladiator With Two Gu-20 Guns. I hated fighting the
Female Battle pods & Jet pods....
My Question for you Die-hard Destroid fans.. Do you like the
Sentinel's Destroids? What Did you think of the Removal of Missle's to Lazers? I Also loved using the Mac II Self-destruct bomb to take out buttload of Invid....

GroundPounder thru & thru
In RT it`s the Tomahawk,In Macross the Excalibur,In Battletech/Mechwarrior the WARHAMMER. Always ALWAYS this design,as it`s such a perfect weapons platform.
In battletech the Warhammer has saved my bacon a fair few times, tho I made some unusal modifications myself too.
In the RT world I like the Macross saga But really do love the New Gen period.
I can see a Tomahawk with a Cyclone stowed aboard for those out of mecha instances. That`s why I love this timeline, you have the New Gen tech & the older Macross tech & 20th/21st century tech too.
I am daring to think IF it`s possible to build a custom 1/18th Tomahawk for my 1/18th collection. If I can WOW what a piece it would be. IF/WHEN I start it I will advise you guys.
Nice to know there are other Destroid pfans out there.

In RT, it's a Tomahawk.
In Macross, it's a Tomahawk, too.
The 'Excalibur' name is kind of a misnomer. 'Excalibur' refers to the development project that resulted in the Tomahawk main chassis, as well as the two offshoots, the Phalanx and Defender. Also, I think the 'Eccalibur' name was used to name a Valkyrie fighter from Macorss 7.
A 1/18th scale? Damn, I'd love to see some other examples... Got any pics?

On the money, Mac.
The YF-19 Prototype made it's appearance in Macross Plus, and was flown by Isamu Dyson.
It was then known as the VF-19 Excalibur, and had a heck of a run in Macross 7.
