First, the original cartoon series is over 20 years old! Clinging onto facets of that might have turned a lot of people off...

Ok, keeping Prime a big rig, I can understand. I mean, he is the biggest, and the (presumably) toughest Autobot, hense the leadership position, and so, the only vehicle that could accomodate some character of that size, in respect to transformation, would be a big rig. Now, if they wanted to keep it close to the original, they'd've found an old late-'70s vintage POS International Cab-over tractor, and have him pull a trailer that had a mini-base in the back... Not too practical. So... to update it (to keep it fresh, as it were), they used a Peterbilt 379 EHXL Custom tractor, and no trailer.

Next, Prowl, the Nissan 280ZX police car, was supposed to be Prime's second in command, but Prowl's low level weapons, coupled with a Vulcan-like strategic mind would be about as useful in a LAM as a snow shovel in hell. So, you have Jazz in that assigned role.

Now, the place that I have an ecception to take with the flick is Megan Fox. She lives up to her last name, to be sure. Raw sex appeal is something she has an abundance of. But, acting ability? Not so much. Still, I guess the role didn't require TOO much skill to portray, huh?

There's certain things that they held onto, sure, but if they'd held onto EVERYTHING (Like Megatron transforming into an incredible shrinking sidearm for StarScream), it would have been dismissed as a throw-back to a bygone generation, and that generation being the only ones to pay to see the movie... Us, in other words.

First part of that i agree totally, The humor was over the top and went for too long. I think they had as many gags as Rat Race did.

Memo, that's another excellent point. It was said that the autobots were pread out all aroud the galaxy looking for the allspark, hense the need for Bumblebee to shine his amazing super-stencil (dare I say, bat-signal-like) spotlight into the sky, bringing the others to Earth...

If a ship were used, then they'd never get her oon time. A ship would have to go from planet to planet, picking up any stray autobot that happened to have his thumb out, and would ultimately have to charge cab fare. At 25 cents a mile, that's a hell of a bill.

If there was one large ship, then the element of stealth is lost. Any large ship would've been detected by Earth's militaries and governemtns, and then... WHOOPS!! No more 'Robots in Disguise'!

Logic, it's what's for dinner.

Meh, I'd care if this were Robotech.

However
