Split on "Man of Steel" (SUPERMAN) maybe a 7 out of 10.
will try to be spoiler free.....
good story, loved the villain, fight scenes were awesome, some good funny parts but Marvel still has DC beat. Batman VS Superman... would give it to Batman..
but...
what up with all the camera shaking? Could not enjoy a decent dialogue without it shaking even in the calmest scenes. Don't care for the musical score and thought almost thought at the beginning it was going to happen but no... and mothership like "War of the Worlds", also "Matrix" and "5th Element" refrences... also story jumps around... so.. just hang on.
maybe just me.

You were pretty spot on (though I would've gave it an 8). CGI & battle scenes were fantastic though the plot was pretty simple.
Michael Shannon had the strongest performance as Zod. Henry Cavill as adequate as a rookie Superman just learning the ropes. Amy Adams wasn't completely flat as Lois and they even made a case on how useful Lois is to Supes.
I saw shades of Smallville and Secret Identity (a mini-series about what would happen if Superman existed in the "real" world).
