'X-Men 4' adds a new mutant and more movie news
www.movieweb.com/news/NE3PD33caLAv65
Edi Gathegi, the actor who played the villainous vampire Laurent in the first two Twilight films, has been cast in Matthew Vaughan's X-Men: First Class as Darwin (at left), a mutant who has the ability to reactively mutate to deal with whatever situation he is in. (e.g. if thrown in a volcano, his body would become heat resistant) Gathegi will join James McAvoy (Professor X), Alice Eve (Emma Frost), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Caleb Landry (Banshee), and Lucas Til (Havoc).
The character, a recent creation of former Uncanny X-Men writer Ed Brubaker, isn't a terribly popular character. In fact, after appearing in the miniseries in which he was introduced, Darwin was shunted into X-Men spin-off of title, X-Factor so his inclusion in the reboot film is a bit odd until one considers that Darwin is one of the few non-Caucasian characters in the franchise. The film comes to theaters on June 3, 2011.

What a load of crap. Affirmative action even for super heroes eh? Don't know how well this prequel stuff is going to fare. Not favorable so far by me. But we'll see.

Interesting, but there hasn't been any talks about Jean Grey or Cyclops. Jean Grey should just be listed as Jean Grey....especially if this is a prequel.
The third movie really killed everything for me. We'll see how this goes.

Hasn't done anything stupid enough to get banned from any forum.....yet.

Agreed, it does look more interesting.
Now I hope the would-be-creators and producers of the possible RLAM are paying attention to the trends in movies. Captain America and now the new X-MEN flicks are keeping their respective timelines. This gives me some hope that they can use the F14s.
