I saw the link to this site on the Wikipedia article for Robotech. I got excited to see that, for once, a new Robotech fansite is emerging at a time when it seems a lot of the older fansites are gone. You all seem like a friendly bunch, and I hope we can all have a great time pondering the mysteries of protoculture:) .
I unfortunately was not alive when Robotech first aired. I saw the show originally in around 1997 or 98 when Toonami was rerunning The Macross Saga and The Robotech Masters., so I must have been seven or eight (I guess that makes me shockingly young compared to a lot of Hardcore Protoculture Addicts, eh?
). I always had fond memories of the show but never really reconsidered it after those initial viewings until Junior High when my cousin brought one of the McKinney novels to school and asked me if I ever heard of Robotech. Then he showed me the Robotech: Battlecry game and all sorts of old memories of the show came flooding back. So my interest in the show was reengaged, but I didn't become a fullblown fan until a couple of years ago when I checked out an Anime Encyclopedia from my library. I flipped through it and eventually started looking up old shows I remembered from Toonami. I looked up Robotech, and from there, I never looked back.
I suppose what I'm getting at is that I hope to discuss one of the greatest science fiction sagas with some likeminded fans.
