YOU KNOW, THAT'S WHAT I SAW AND THOUGHT ABOUT HOW DOES A PRODUCTION START WITHOUT A DIRECTOR ON BOARD TO HELM THE ROBOTECH LIVE ACTION? BUT LOOKS LIKE WB AT AN EARLY START WITH THE LICENSE FIGURED THAT THEY WOULD HAVE AN EARLY RELEASE IF PLANNED FROM 2007. 4 TO 5 YEARS IS NOT BAD. BUT IN THE END WB IS NOT RUSHING INTO THINGS BUT THE PRODUCTION AROUND IT DID THINK IT WAS A 2011 RELEASE.Nice find Memo. The fact that his site says the LAM is due in 2011 worries me since it can't be coming out this year, especially if the sidequel probably won't be released this year either. At least we know the title won't have a hyphen in it.
CAN YOU THINK OF ANY OTHER PRODUCTION STARTED IN THAT MANNER?
WHAT I THINK IN MY OWN OPINION IS THAT WB IS LOOKING AROUND FOR THE FEEL OF HOW THIS PRODUCTION WILL GO. YOU KNOW, WRITING AND NOW MUSIC. AND THIS IS STILL JUST SMALL FINDS OUT THERE THAT PROBABLY EXISTED A LONG TIME AGO.
BUT ALL OF IT MEANS NOTHING IF A DIRECTOR LIKE MICHAEL BAY SHOWS UP AND CHANGES EVERYTHING AROUND.
THEN AGAIN LOOK AT OTHER WB PRODUCTIONS LIKE HARRY POTTER AND DARK KNIGHT... DID THEY START THE SAME WAY? YOU KNOW, FULL PRODUCTION BEFORE A DIRECTOR.
HMMM...
NOW ONTO THIS GUYS MUSIC, NOT BAD. WONDER IF HE WRITING THE ACTUAL SONGS FOR THE SINGER OF THE ROBOTECH STORY OR JUST THEMES OF HERE AND THERE. I LIKE THE STYLE THE GUY PUTS OUT. LOOKS LIKE IT CAN APPEAL TO EVERYONE.
AND SPECULATING SOME BIT...
AND A GUY SINGING... CAN IT MEAN A MALE VOICE FOR THE ROLE OF MINMEI AND MAYBE OUR HERO WILL BE A FEMALE?
TIME WILL TELL.

Who knows Memo, afterall WB's version of Robotech will be a reboot. Would it be safe to say a reimagining then? If it worked for Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek, it could with Robotech too.

Its infrequent, but not too entirely uncommon. Budget movies is where you can fin the most frequency of backward productions, however in most cases it just signals either they have a Dir. and keeping it quiet, or Dir. role is being strictly controlled by the license owner as a whole, and not by a singular person just yet. Just hope that the next news release doesnt state the movie is being directed by Allan Smithee.
As for David Aldo, he is quite popular here in the pop charts with some high ranking albums. I don't think he would be used to help with the theatrical score as such as its not his style, but perhaps the singing pop songs of the female/male heroines within the movie.

From the way the facebook info is worded, he was asked to write the song sometime in 2007 or 2008. Then whomever updates his bio just kept uping the year when the movie didn't materialize.
I wonder if he ever wrote that song for Robo tech? It would be interesting to see what he came up with, and whether the song was plot specific or generic. As someone else pointed out, he reminds me of MB and his style.
