That's a CM Yellow in my pics, its pretty close to scale with the hovertank
I wonder if the in-series hovertank could do this? That would be a lot of fire power at one time although it would probably be really hard to keep it on target once you started firing
About the matchbox hovertank molds, why would they be the only one to disintegrate? Also, if hovertanks don't sell why were they re-released, on into the mid 90's with the Exo-Squad stuff?

Maybe the reason they assume Hovertanks don't sell is because Hovertanks couldn't save the Exo-Squad line as well as the fact that it was part of the least popular Robotech line. I wonder if this reasoning would still be around if Sentinels had been released as the Hovertank would have played a large role in that series also.

Years ago, McKeever told me it was because the Southern Cross toys didn't do well in the 80s. I'm not exactly sure how one could objectively measure such a statement since there were only 2 mecha: Hovertank, misnamed Bioroid Invid Fighter (its the Stage III Warrior Bioroid that only appears in the Southern Cross/Sentinels opening footage), 2 vehicles: Biover and Flashclapper and some figures.
As for The Sentinels, I think that is a good observation. The Spartas, Logan and Ajax were all supposed to appear in the animation with the Hovertank being among the top tier Earth mecha in the series. Most of the ground vehicles that would appear in The Sentinels were from Southern Cross.
