I hope you guys aren't going to just explain grass roots marketing then say its what HG is doing and see its good for robo-tech.
If you are going to attribute grass root marketing success to the robo-tech franchise, please give some specific examples of how its working, negative word of mouth doesn't count, with stats. Of course they will be verified with proof, right? Applying data from other franchises and speculation doesn't count. I'm sure you guys have some good stuff to back up whatever claims you make related to the robo-tech franchise.
Also, don't forget to explain the differences between 1985-ish grass roots marketing (the model HG is apparently using now) and a modern 2011 grass roots/viral marketing campaign?


I don't really see how the Berne convention applies to Robotech since it allows the author to challenge a copyright on his work, but go for it.
Besides, it looks like Studio Nue and Big West already claimed the US copyrights to the Macross drawings back in 2002. Doesn't that pretty much leave things the way they have been for a while now, HG can use the likenesses in some media like the comics but not in new/original animation?
