Everything you say regarding Thexder and BattleTech Is true,Alpha Bravo.
Thank you for additional information.
I am just trying to find old games from 1980s with transforming robots, because I really like robots that transform into fighter jets. And I also want to show that game programmers from eighties had great Imagination and skills.
I will try to find more games from 1980s with transforming robots,
and I would really like to hear your opinion.
Thank you for additional information.

Well off the top of my head there was Zillion II on the Sega Master System, which featured a motorcycle that transformed into body armor. Looking it up just now, I see none other than TATSUNOKO on the title screen!

Macross/Macross: Countdown
Year:1985( Wikipedia : 1984.XX: The Super Dimension Fortress Macross Countdown )
Platform(s):X1 Turbo/FM-7/MSX/MSX2/PC-8801
Gameplay:
This game is very similar to Choujikuu Yousai Macross(FAMICOM).
Transformation is available in all three modes.
Radar warns you on the incoming attack.
Screenshots:
Title screen(MSX)
Valkyrie - fighter mode(MSX)
Valkyrie - Gerwalk mode(MSX)
Valkyrie - Battroid mode(MSX)
I Really Like the title screen song(youtube).
