I think I'll be saving my bucks for other things, saved for RT:LLA when it comes out.
Having both classic RT DVD collection & the Remastered DVDs already is enough for me.
Of course for RT fans that are completist in nature, would want more of classic Remastered (for umpteenth time) of RT DVDs.

16mm Animation on HD to me looks terrible.
I will stick with my Legacy Robotech DVD's as that is how I grew up on it and the remastered versions of the Original shows(Macross,Southern Cross,Mospeada) for the cleaned up ones.
The only one I want on HD is the Macross DYRL movie as that was 35mm!

According to Tommy, both soundtracks are on the A+E DVD set. He said the 5.1 (new version) is the default but if you turn down all of the channels except one, think it was the center, the original soundtrack is there.I still don't understand why they could not have 2 audio tracks on this recent set. Original and Remastered audio.

So far I have watched Robotech Masters and some of New Gen on this remastered set.
Video is great. Occasionally there is a weird pixelization when there is a scene change.
Audio is a mixed bag. They did not have the OSM audio source element so to get 5.1 they added enhanced sounds. They stick out pretty bad if you are a long time RT fan. I am getting use to it but really would have loved if this set had the mono track on it too.

Okay I stumbled upon a great thing last night.
Normally my BLuRay/DVD runs to the optical cable to the 5.1 on the receiver.
Last night my bro in law was watching regular TV and had the receiver set to video1 for TV sound.
Later I went to watch some of the Remastered New Gen episodes and forgot to change the input back to DVD/Bluray.
The audio was just coming out a stereo signal.
The good news? The new sounds are still there but since they are not all separated and blasting the sub it sounded more like the classic mono sound of the original ADV DVD's.
Now the remastered sound effects are all still there and they are noticeable but not nearly like it is when you watch it with the full 5.1 turned on. Pretty cool!!
So if you have this set and want it to sound a little bit more like the original 1985 run then turn off the 5.1 and run it just stereo if you can.
