Has anybody ever tried out xtranormal.com? They're a relatively new site which allows you to make animations quickly and easily, using text-to-speech.
Here's a sample vid I made in just a couple of minutes:

Check out their online animation system, and have some fun with it. Maybe we could do a Robotech fan project using this.

Thats quite a good laugh.
I had a go, and this took me just a few mins. Mostly experimenting, but not bad for my first go.
Yes, its RT.

Haha, pretty funny - you should change around the punctuation in the text, to make it flow more naturally. As you can imagine, phonetic spelling can help too.
I only wish we could insert in our own choices of background music, sound effects, and even our own voice tracks.

Yeah.
Its quite limited in some aspects. I downloaded the State-Beta, where you have a better range of tools, but you only have one scene/2 people, and it costs on average $10 to get full packages, or just $1 for individual people/sets.
www.xtranormal.com/watch/6447813/ This one is another vid I did last night. I have got the speach/script to sound better and more fluid, and changed around text vs. actions and using pauses. Its a silly one, but it looks better.

Yeah I have like no idea about that character. I mean its in a set for school/uni so I believe. Its just strange, but the red detailing make the box sites look like letters(in my nation at least).
I have spent a few hours just experimenting, seeing how much you can do with the free version. No new movies just yet.

I didn't download State for my local PC, so I don't know about all the extra features it has. I do see that it allows you to access some extra free characters, aside from any you want to pay for.
I was thinking that if we made a single common account login ID (eg. RobotechX), we could each log into it when we have free time, and keep building on a single animation, to make it longer and longer. Maybe we could make a story animation that way.
I still wish we could upload our own soundfiles, like some Robotech background music bits, for example.

Here's something else I found:
www.muvizu.com
Check that out - you may find it useful and fun.
It's a bit more involved than Xtranormal is, of course.

Nice find.
Quite entertaining. Sure its limited but of course it has to have a basic template to work from. Looks promising.
