Some new works in progress and news of sorts was created by LadyGrimes
Here are some new WIP's I'm currently spending late hours of the night on.
Zyrian Overlord
The first of three illustrations I have planned.
Zoal was the first well because he's just bad ass to me!
I'll be doing similiar illustrations of Arzel and Bhor.
Here's the other
I've titled "soul out there"
The title is after one of the many songs on my never ending playlist, and I felt the song title was perfect.
anyways, Brian and Xxionia. No there isn't any romantic connection between the two, it's actually complicated.
They just want to help each other, but there is a sort of emotional attachment though.
Anyways I hope the colors arent too overly saturated, cause I was going for a more soft tone with this one.
On to the news..
Atlantech is no longer considered to me, a robotech fan project. in fact I'd say it's more of a story inspired by Robotech than anything else. No this decision is not because of the Robotech Genesis/HG fiasco this decision is because I want my own creation to stand on its own. I never intended on comparing it Robotech or comparing Robotech to Atlantech. Both are different, and I've got a lot of plans for the story including two prequels down the road. I want to expand on the Atlantech universe and make it something as great and epic as Robotech was to me when I first saw it.
That is my goal, and I hope no one is upset by this decision, but I just want to do my own thing.
I'll still post the goods here though as its still considered a project but inspired by RT.
I'm working on the synopsis for the original story and plan to have that posted on the site soon. I'm still planning on doing independent publishing as well, also have plans for commissioning someone to do resin character sculpts.

That's great . Looking forward to finaly reading that synopsis
Btw i like what you did with the uniform design and the coloration on Zoal. And the second pic is just fine with the saturation. Would love to see a higher res .

Thanks a lot
the previews are always small in resolution, but once I finish them, I'll post the high res files.

Usually a canvas size of about 1000x1000 pixels
sometimes smaller, it just depends, but
when I do the final inking of the sketch, I will often crop unwanted space out, so its not so large and I can just add the background.
Cant wait to see those .
Out of artistic curiosity.. what are the native resolutions you work in ?

ohh. Do it bigger Trust me it will pay off
I usualy tend to work at least in 2K (2000x2000) or
most often even larger (3K upwards)
Not only you have a greater liberty to work on the details. , but you can also do high quality prints
. While i was working for the museum last year i had to do a map for a wall print of 2x2 metters in size. I ended up having a photoshop file of almost 10 000 pixels (not to mention the over 400MB file size..)
And there is the print.. (in the forehead of the exibition)

lol that's really cool to have something you created displayed in an exhibit like that.
I do sometimes work with larger sizes but tend to do smaller because for some reason, it's just easier for me to work with.
Though I do love the zoom tool hehe
Anyways here's something new I recently finished.. er stayed up all night to finish, because I've been fiddling with it since late Decemeber...
"Mother Dearest"
can't believe it took me that long to finish... damn artist block!
anyways...
Scrapbook style portrait of Victoria's mother for the book and her profile page. (she idolizes her mother, almost to an unhealthy level such as talking to her portrait when alone)
I like giving background histories on my characters, especially when it concerns portraits, because they can really tell a story about that character's past.
I plan on doing a lot more portraits similar to this, especially one of Brian and his brother.
I've also got a gift art for sighup since his birthday is coming up! oh did I say that out loud? shame on me...
typical HP ruining surprises....

Wow, you are getting better all the time
Very clean, great attention to details, and i love the color work.
.......
I did some peaces for that exibit (a few maps, some animation, and a lot of tehnical support).. been working on that more then 7 months last year...
And LOL you and i seem to pull a lot of all nighters

a few current WIP's
This you've seen before
only it has progressed a little more
then I finally got to arzel
and her picture idea I had in my head
for a long time, it just took a while to
transfer it to the digital canvas
Those are some cool looking Egyptian motifs I've utilized
I gave Zoal the scarabs, so for her portrait I had to
go for something kinda feminine while still being cool.
She is a hard core warrior after all.
Now this last one...
I started it a couple weeks ago but it's been filed away for now until I can think of what to do with it. I was planning to do a playing card theme, as its title is queen of hearts but I need more to time to think of a perfect concept.
also I've pushed it aside so I can finish a bunch of other things.
actually all these paintings are kinda old in terms of news
I've just never posted the last two here, until now.
