Replied by Lancer on topic RT25 was AWESOME!!!

This was an event that was organized by Fans for the Fans and to Celebrate the Voice Actors...

This was held in Van Nuys for just 1 Night Only.

This Dinner was in Semi-Formal/Formal Attire and Much of the Fandom that was there and the VAs were in top form.

The Day started out w/ Fans meeting each other and playing a new RPG that one of the fans invented...Then it was break until 6p when VAs and the rest of Fandom came in to Celebrate.

A cool thing that was done by the organizers was that the VAs were seated WITH THE FANS!! I got to sit w/ Greg Finley (Capt. Gloval/SC Leonard) and his wife. Man were they good people!!

The VAs in attendance were:

Tony Oliver

Melanie MacQueen

Rebecca Forstadt

Greg Finley

Melora Harte

Yuri Lowenthal

Frank Catalano

Eddie Frierson

Mike Sorich

Dan Woren

Michael Bradley

Steve Kramer

Richard Epcar

Alexandra Kenworthy

David Millbern

Barbara Goodson

Wendee Lee

Thomas A. White

Ellyn Stern

Robert Axelrod

Mike Reynolds

Craig Schaefer

Michael McConnohie

Steve Wittmack

Melodee Spevack

Edie Mirman

With a special surprise appearance from Greg Snegoff Himself from Italy who flew out for this event

and Svea Macek (Wife of Carl Macek)

This was a very respectful and AWESOME event...Not only was it a Celebration of the VAs but a tribute to Carl Macek, Ulpio Minucci, Robert Barron, and others who have passed on in recent years. I could tell that Mrs. Macek was touched by the gesture and love from the Friends and Fans!

The running joke of the evening was how many times people imitated Mike Reynolds' voice (Dolza) Many had stories to share about this guy and others.

There were video tributes and just all around GREAT fun to be had. The VAs were very personable and friendly and was very supportive to the fandom and just in awe of the turnout of what they did as "just a job" to turn into what it is now 25 yrs later.

I am still geeking out about this! I have pics and people made videos of the entire event. I am sure that it will make its way online soon if not already.

Those of you who have made it to this event please share your experience here...If you missed it, we missed you because this was truly a once in a lifetime event that had the most VAs in any one place for RT.

I am happy that I went and just overall excited that some VAs recognized me and met new fans of RT.

Mad Props and Shout Out to Vivian & Joe & Tom who were the driving force to make this event happen! AWESOME JOB GUYS!!

THANK YOU!!

Just had to share!

For those who have a facebook account, there is a photo album link posted on rt25's wall.

They are encouraging others who attended the event to post their album links there as well and may add some of the pics to the rt25 website later this week.

Looks like they had an awesome time, I've read it described by some who attended as the promised once in a lifetime event.

Nah, I wasn't' invited, so I didn't' go. The event was planned so haphazardly with registrations and invitations of the private event turning eventually into a public one when the events deadline was nearing. Sounds like a debacle in the making doesn't it?

They should of planned it better, I've talked to a half dozen fans who thought the whole event was by invite only, RSVP (it was initially) Besides that, if I went all commando and left to go on the weekend, my wife can't monitor my tendency for excessive drinking.

These days, my time is now better spent babysitting Hayden on weekends and working overtime during the week to support my wife whose on maternity leave collecting employment benefits.

But hey that leaves me with more time for moderating, contemplating and speculating the future path of Robotech. ;)

There wasn't any debacle at all in this event. Aside from it running a bit late, the event couldn't have been more properly planned. There were plenty of people who went that didn't get an "invite", so if people didn't go based on hurt feelings because they didn't get a "personal invite", that's on them.

While it does sound like some were crying "sour grapes", I was surprised to see quite a few people (actually many) who never got a personal invite, and aren't too informed about Robotech, who were there. I guess with all that internet surfing, it does pay to check other sites other than one or two. Even here, it was mentioned that it was open to the public, and for quite awhile. Oh well, you really did miss out. Would've been cool to have you there.
