Other Robotech comics have been on Amazon.com Japan. I don't know how well they sell but they continue to import them.

I love the tags people added to the book: "Valkyrie" and "Plastic Model."

Oh, and I notice "From the Stars" has a five-star review that says "Recommended for Macross fans!"

Strange then that none of the Shadow Chronicles has been reviewed yet...

And, um...you DO know that all the Amazons are linked up, right? If you look at the used Jack McKinney novels on amazon.co.jp, for example, most of them are being shipped from the U.S.

There's one REALLY, REALLY good used book store in Tokyo that I've been to that specializes in English books ("Good Day Books" in Ebisu). I don't recall seeing any Robotech books there, though.

For new books, Kinokuniya Bookstore in Shinjuku has a large collection of English books, as does (believe or not) Tower Records in Shibuya.

Most of the books in those stores are from the U.K., though, not America.

WAS GOING TO GO TO JAPAN THIS YEAR BUT CURRENTLY TAKING CLASSES THAT WILL KEEP ME BUSY THROUGH THE YEAR. PLUS MY PART TIME JOB (BESIDES FULL TIME) I HAVE TO KEEP FOR A LITTLE BIT MORE TO PAY FOR OTHER TRAVELING EXPENSES SOUTH OF THE BORDER. AND IF ALL GOES WELL MIGHT HAVE A PREVIEW AT COMIC CON.

And Macross is supposedly banned in the US...and yet, I own a lot of Macross books, DVDs, magazines, and model kits. B)

Two things make this stuff difficult: the internet, and second-hand or specialty stores.

That said, I notice that amazon.co.jp has no Robotech DVDs listed for sale. The books are there, the Shadow Chronicles soundtrack is there...hell, the VHS tapes are there...but no DVDs.

Amazingly, there's also this: ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/ロボテック

Still, I'd imagine that more Macross merchandise is sold in the U.S. that Robotech merchandise sold in Japan. :)
